Hedge and Chang win as a sold-out field opens the season.

The race
A sold-out group of 22 drivers launched the season at K1 Speed Burbank. The field was split into two groups, with the quickest qualifiers brought together for the opening heat.
Jim Hunter set the fastest qualifying time but lost ground after the start. Ian Hedge took the first recorded victory ahead of Michael Cervantes and Greg Kehoe.
John Chang won the second race by seven tenths over Dennis Quintela, while Abiko Shieh completed the podium less than a tenth behind.
Official classification
The original Round 1 report recorded podium finishers for both groups rather than a complete 22-driver classification.
